Today, we focus our real estate broker record-keeping research on the State of Utah. Brokers in Utah are required to maintain records for at least three (3) years according to

Often these regulations require the broker to keep files at their place of business or have other minor stipulations in regards to storing their records. Filetwin allows you to satisfy the intent of the regulations because your digital assets are backed up on our servers and accessible online through your office computer. Keep in mind that we backup broker dealers regulated through the SEC and they are required to maintain digital records for six (6) years so if you just have half the length to worry about, then Filetwin will server you well.

We created a video to help people understand the flaws with traditional storage media like a hard drive or CD-DVD. Click on this link to check out our video

Hopefully, if you’re a broker in Utah, we’ve answered your questions. If you’d like to ask us more questions, you can submit a comment on this blog or call us directly at 1 877 310-2884 and one of our U.S. based Backup Specialists will be pleased to continue this conversation.

Online Backup Security with Filetwin

The security of your digital assets is critically important to Filetwin. That’s why our site and infrastructure exceed the high standards used by banks and other financial institutions. These high standards have been an integral part of Filetwin’s design since the beginning, and they extend to the ways we store and transmit your data. These standards even transcend to the employees we hire.

These are a few of the measures we’ve taken to keep your information safe and secure:

Encryption: Filetwin encrypts all data with 256-bit Secure Socket Layer encryption (SSL) when it is being uploaded or restored to your server or PC. You’ll notice the padlock icon at the bottom of your browser window whenever you are on a page that contains this type of encrypted channel. Our site is also equipped with an Extended Validation Certificate. This will show in most browsers that have been updated, as a green address bar and a confirmation that you’re on Filetwin’s Customer Login page. The padlock icon, along with this green bar, indicates that what you see has been encrypted.

Where we keep it: Data is stored on our servers in Filetwin’s secure data center. We maintain strict guidelines for security and physical access to our servers. This includes housing servers in a locked room with 24-hour surveillance and access-control for authorized employees.

We don’t trust just anybody: Filetwin employees do not have access to your usernames or passwords. Only a few trusted employees have access to the servers where your digital assets are stored, and even then all access is logged and monitored regularly.

Some things you can do to help safeguard your information:

Always keep your computer’s antivirus software up to date.

Never send Filetwin a regular email with your account details. We have a special form for reporting issues so you can submit a question and we’ll tie it to your account in our system.

Don’t use the same password for all of your website accounts.

Look for the SSL padlock icon on your web browser whenever you are logging in to restore sensitive information. This indicates that the page is encrypted.
